Troubled Bridge over Water Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

A quirky and challenging little bridge slightly off the beaten track!
(BYOP, Bring your own pen)

This double-wire bridge is technically a bridge (since it has two wires and not one), and the wires are quite sturdy. It only looks half broken because it was built to allow for the passage of boats.
Small boats. Or ducks, maybe.

Nearby there's a nice view from the iron-bar bridge at the inlet of Straumstjørna.
If you have a canoe, you can land it at the waypoint, carry it from Storavatnet into StraumsTjørna, canoe to this bridge, land it next to it and carry it along the canal into Imsvatnet.
Or you can ride it past this double-wire bridge, limbo-rafting your way gently down the stream.

At the outlet of the canal, there's a bay where dams were constructed so that diatomaceous earth (kiselgur) could be scraped up.
The bay is shallow, and probably a nice spot for swimming.

To locate the bridge, it may be helpfull to keep in mind that the powerlines span over the exit of the canal, and the bridge is at the entrance - about 100 m to the west of the exit.

Also, thanks to floppyghost for the name suggestion.
