Geocache Description:

log is write in rain paper so should survive .A quick cache in Steventon. The first in what will be my "Mary Poppins" series. You could drive nearer to make it a cache & dash but suggest parking in Village hall carpark for a short walk.have added 2 spoiler photos but think cache is more fun if you resist looking ! Please replace carefully, it’s tied on. Lift up top lid and tip cache out.

This mile-long Causeway was raised in c1250 to allow mediaeval merchants to pass through the wet and low-lying village of Steventon on their way from the Midlands to the south coast ports. It is paved with local stone 'pitchings' along the top, which, like the trees, are maintained by a local and ancient Charity. It is now a 'listed building'. Another cache in Steventon takes you the opposite way so this uses the east side. There are several nearby caches which could be combined for a day out so Steventon and Milton offer quite a variety. The puzzle cache will need some preparation for most I feel . You could park at Village Hall and walk up the high street ( 2 pubs) turn left immediately before the bridge being careful of the steep slope and make your way to Milton.Once in Milton while keeping the shops on your right , look for a sign for Steventon taking you across fields to your left. There are various routes back to Steventon so you can pick up this cache on your way back .
