I've been looking for a pretty place to hide this container I
got from the Wichita Geocaching Society's Summer Picnic this past
summer and I found this spot while hanging out at the lake with my
little German Shepherd puppy, Zeke. While I'm not a fan of small
hides in rocks, this seemed to be the best place to tuck one away,
as the tree to the north should block your search and retrieval
from nearby muggles who frequent the lake. Please use extreme
stealth if muggles are around. I've placed an "out of place"
rectangular conglomerate rock, which I found down by the water, on
top of the hide spot to make your search a bit easier.
Lake Afton Park occupies a 720-acre site south of Goddard,
Kansas. The centerpiece of the park is a 258-acre lake and the park
provides boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming
opportunities, a public shooting range, camping facilities, and
shelter houses. You can learn more by visiting their website
here.
This area of the park is known as Buffalo Campground (Limited
Stay Area) as well as Cottonwood Grove and has beautiful spots all
along the lake to camp or just have a nice little picnic. Just
south of GZ and up a little incline is a beautiful spot to take in
the view of Lake Afton and a great spot for photos. Although not
required, I'd love to see some photos of you at this vantage point,
so bring your camera and share them with us!
Original contents include: LED flashlight key chain, coil wrist
wrap key chain, squishy caterpillar key chain and log sheet.
