[ENG]History:There historic buildings in Kálvin Square, the old market place. The only medieval monument the Reformed fortified church stands in the square. It was built in the 15th and 16th centuries in Gothic style. It was restored in 1547, but it was spoilt in the big earthsquake and it got a Baroque bell tower with onion dome on top. There is an oval shaped wall around the church with loop-holes in it. The wall was surrounded by an other fortified line, which was spoilt during Turkish-Tartar invasion between 1558 and 1661. A German school was built on a part of the ruined wall, but the former school is the cantor’s house today. The gate of this building used to be the gate of the castle. According to oral tradition the depression of Vár Street (Castle) used to be the ditch around the fortress. 
[RO]Istorie: P-ta Kálvin, odinioara Ópiac, este un ansamblu monumental arhitectural. Aici se ridica singurul monument ramas din evul mediu, biserica reformata cetate, construita la sfârsitul secolului al XV., respectiv la începutul secolului al XVI. în stil gotic. Forma de azi a primit-o dupa reconstructia din 1547. Dupa cutremurul mare din 1802, în 1829, au construit o noua clopotnita în stil baroc, cu acoperis de coif sub forma de ceapa. Biserica a fost împrejmuita de un zid oval, prevazut cu deschizaturi pentru arme, care a fost restaurat. Acesta a fost fortificat de înca o centura, care dupa presupuneri a fost deteriorat partial în timpul navalirii tatare si turcesti, între 1558-1661. Pe o portiune al acesteia a fost construita asa numita scoala Germana, locuinta actuala a cantorului (cântaret de biserica) si locuinta, cine trage clopotele. Intrarea cladirii, cu bolta, probabil a fost poarta cetatii. Dupa traditie, adâncitura strazii, asa numita Vár gödre, a fost santul dimprejurul fortaretei. 
[HU]Történelem:A város régi Ópiaca, a mai Kálvin tér építészeti muemlékegyüttes. Itt emelkedik a város egyetlen megmaradt középkori muemléke, a református vártemplom, mely a XV. század végén és a XVI. század elején épült gótikus ízlésben. Mai formáját az 1547-ben történt átalakítása után nyerte el. Az 1802-ben történt nagy földrengés után, 1829-ben új, barokk hagymasisakos harangtornyot építettek mellé. A templomot lorésekkel ellátott ovális alakú várfal övezi, melyet restauráltak. Ezt egy második erodöv kerítette, mely feltehetoen az 1558-1661-es török-tatár dúlások idején részlegesen kárt szenvedett. Ennek egy szakaszára épült rá az úgynevezett Német iskola, a mai kántori és harangozói lakás. Az épület boltíves kapubejárata az egykori várkapu lehetett. A szájhagyomány úgy tartja, hogy a mai Vár utca mélyedése, az úgynevezett Vár gödre, az erodöt övezo védárok volt.
