Geocache Description:

This is a small cache can be found on one of the circular trails within the regenerated Parkland that was once the site of Murton Colliery, it can also be incorporated with the other two trails forming a pleasant walk around the parkland for all the family either before or after some Retail Therapy. This cache has been placed by the kind permission of The Dalton Park Management

Batters Law Barrow:- Bronze age man first settled in Murton (Moor Town) around 5000bc, and were attracted to the area by the abundance of food. At the site of the Batters law to the South of Dalton Park, numerous Bonze Age relics including stone implements and remains of animals they hunted have been found.
This is only one of many Barrows to be found through out England
