Short west Ronneby airport.
"Cleared for takeoff”
This is the 3 word you will hear, sitting in cockpit, lined up on runway just at the threshold, before you could release the brakes and let your right hand grip throttles and move them forward. So all the horses out there under the engine cowls could do theirs working. Bringing your bird up there it and belongs.
Before that, you was given the clearance to the destination for your flight, from the flight-controller in the tower. Maybe including the altitude you should fly and heading out from the airport.
And before that you and your copilot had planned the flight carefully, with headings, altitudes, way-points on track, and alternate place to land if weather is bad on your destination. This flight-plan you had given in to the fligthcontrol. So they can plait you in, in the more and more dens traffic up in the air.
Of-course you have check t weather carefully, for destination, alternatives up on your flight-level. It´s not seldom wind up there on your cruising height, blowing 1-200 km/hr.
You, or more truly, ground-crew on the airport, had filled up the plane with sufficient amount of fuel. If you have passengers aboard , may some catering is bringed. And cabin-crew have gone through the safety-procedure, that you may have heard hundreds of times as a passenger.
And- Up, Up and away!
Well, honestly, there is a lot more than that to do before you went up there. But – lets fly from it this time!
