Geocache Description:

Follow the coordinates to find the lost pirate treasure. A 5 stage multi cache for young and old. Sign the treasure map when you find the final stage.

You MUST find all five stages to claim this as a find. The first small box is not the final cache and as such doesn't have a log in it. Use the coordinates in this stage to find the next stage. Leave the coordinates in the box for the next finder.

Pirates have been mentioned in Pennsylvania lore. There is a celebration for Pirates in Marcus Hook. There is a complete website for Pirate Dave – Pirate King of Pennsylvania. We have the Pirates of Penn caching team. A grandson of a cacher I know, calls Geocaching…Hunting for hidden treasure. Perhaps a small ship sailed up the Brandywine and was able to hide a treasure chest of fine booty in the woods of Chester County.
This cache is in the Springton Manor Farm Park. The park opens at 8am and closes at dusk. No nighttime caching allowed. The ranger station is here, so don't even try it. You will be walking along the Bartol Trail. Round trip about 2/3 miles. The journey loops back, so the final is near the beginning. All stages are just off the trail. This was placed in the late fall. I tried to keep away from prickers and potential poison ivy. This cache is set up for young and old and the contents of the treasure chest will be worth your effort. The trail has a slight incline, but is approved for bikes (and horses). It is in an approved bow hunting area, so please dress accordingly.
