We had a cache in this same location once before and it was muggled. We replaced it, and it was muggled again. Then, one day a student's mother was telling us about this unusual container she got from a garage sale. She gave us the container and it was our geocache container. Since it has been awhile, we decided we would try it in this location again!
Update: Mugged again... so we changed it to a nano and changed the hint to give away the location. Look at the hint only if you want to know exactly where it should be.
If you found the previous cache in this location, feel free to come find it again...since it is a new listing! It has the original container and I am leaving the same description (see below) that it had before.
When we first moved to Blackshear, everyone would always refer to “the old high school” when they gave directions. Of course, we were lost because we aren’t from Blackshear. So this cache placement is to help all those people not from Blackshear who ever have to stop and ask someone for directions. After finding this cache, you will know where “the old high school” is. As a side note, it is sometimes referred to as Tiger Field, since Blackshear High School’s mascot was the Tiger. In the late 70s Blackshear High School and Patterson High School decided to merge into Pierce County High School. The only reminder that it was once a high school is the track that remains.
You are looking for a 1.2 quart Lock-and-Lock which has been painted to match its surroundings. Initial contents include an ORNL lapel pin, a Hard Rock Cafe guitar pin, a teacher key chain, a pocket mirror, one of our Going Coastal trading cards, and we are sending out our GeoWoodstock IX proxy coin to travel around. FTF may take whichever item they would like without a trade!
Muggle factor is very high at times…but other times there will be no one around, so use discretion and please replace cache exactly as found.
This is one of three initial caches we have placed in a county (the original one was...now we have placed several) which only has one other active cache. These three are also the first caches we have ever placed, so keep your eyes out for more coming soon :-)
Please contact us if there are any problems with the cache or if you need help finding it (or if you would just like to meet some fellow cachers, since we live less than a mile away from the cache location)! It shouldn’t be too difficult.
