As I was nearing the end of a nice hike down off the ridge a couple of places, I noticed this interesting "field" where several old now "rootless" stumps seemed to be "growing." They make an interesting picture now, but in the middle of the summer the grasses may hide them more. In any case, I decided to mark the spot with a cache.
Watch out for the usual hazards, particularly ticks when the grasses are higher. I didn't see any sign of PO, but it might be "hiding" in the grasses, so be alert.
I have no idea if these stumps offer any attraction for muggles, but just in case, please take care to make sure the cache is completely hidden with the natural camo when you leave it.
