A beautiful Doc campground and great place for a picnic and swim
Headed out this weekend to camp at Lake Arapuni and couldn't believe there wasn't a cache at this wonderful spot.
The Arohena Campground is HUGE with a covered dinning area and several BBQ tables. It has a new toilet prefab with flushing toilets - Yes a Doc Campground with flushing toilets, I couldn't believe it and its only cost $8 a night to stay.
Getting there
East of Kihikihi via Arapuni Rd, turn into Rotongata Rd and into Waipapa Rd. Then into Pukewhau Rd at Arohena, follow and turn left into Mangare Rd and right into Landing Rd, follow to end at the river
Have put the cache very close to the waters edge in a tree so hopefully it doesn't wash away.
