Geocache Description:

This Snap-lock cache is located near Lake Toxaway, NC . If you found the Blue Ridge divides, you are eligible to log this one. Didn't have a pen short enough to fit. Good tradables.Watch out for saw-briars guards protecting the cache.

Another cache located on one of the many Alantic/Gulf of Mexico watershed divides. The cache is located near an old railway cut that originated in Lake Toxaway. The railroad into Panthertown was constructed and operated by The Moltz Lumber Company in 1918. Minorities did most of the heavy labor and a few were killed by accidents during construction. A couple of the old graves still exists near Cold Mt. road. The old railroad bed pretty much follows the “Cold Mt Rd” (1301). The grade from Lake Toxaway was so steep, the train backed up in the morning to Panthertown, and returned forward that evening with just three log cars. There were many accidents, but no wrecks.
When you face East, the water flows down to Lake Toxaway (First built in 1900, burst in 1916 and rebuilt in 1963), Jocassee, Keowee, Hartwell, Russell, Thurmond and on to the Savannah River, and into the Atlantic Ocean. Looking West, the water flows down Greenland Creek, Tuckasegee River, Fontana Dam, little Tennessee and near Knoxville joins the Holston, Nolichucky, to become the wandering Tennessee River which almost touches Georgia, goes south into Alabama, and back across Tennessee into Kentucky before emptying into the Mississippi.
