Geocache Description:

Let's face it, we're not getting any younger. Time passes by too quickly and we often don't notice the subtle changes taking place around us.

This cache honors the passing of time with an assortment of timepieces including a collectible pocket watch.

This cache is located at Coopers Pond in Bergenfield, NJ. The park is open to the public until 11pm but does not allow dogs, bikes, rollerskating, alcohol or feeding of the ducks or geese. Please repect the park rules while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Just to the north of the pond are the Tunis Richard Cooper Historic Properties. This site was settled by the Demarest family until 1758. It was later sold to the Cooper family which converted the original gristmill into a chair factory. The Cooper Chair Factory flourished until 1863 and then stopped production in 1894. Soon after it was destroyed by a fire or flood and the land changed owners. Currently, the property is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places and is owned by the borough of Bergenfield. The town plans to stabilize the buildings on the historic property before opening it to the public.
