Google maps shows there are structures around the cache. As noted, colorado springs razed everything down for the woodmen expansion and there is indeed a walking trail here.
The stormwater runoff from Woodmen Road, Stinson, Columbine Estates, Lexington, Rangewood used to wash down the side of the road. With the stormwater improvement,it will go into the detention pond where the water is treated before it gradually goes into the creek. Don't worry - it should be dry most of the time because it has a low-flow system in the bottom to help channel the water into the stormwater system.
Also - As part of the Woodmen expansion, as part of the city’s negotiation with the property owners when property was purchased for the expansion, as well as with Falcon Estates and other neighborhood groups, there was an agreement to construct a nature trail. It’s a gravel trail, ADA accessible, offering a nature walk through the Woodmen corridor.
