A micro at the entrance to Puna.
Formerly known as Olaa, Keaau Village used to be synonymous with the sugar industry. Although the cane-haul trucks no longer rule the roads, the old flumes still criss-cross the surrounding area and most families still have roots in the old plantation camps.
Lots of hiding places, but with the hint will be super-easy to find. Pretty exposed, but just act like you're taking photos - that's what we did when we placed it.
There are two approaches - the easier walk is from the highway side, just park well away from the road. The other side has less traffic, but it would be quite a climb (not a good idea.)
The cache itself is a micro - only the log and a pencil at the moment (might want to bring your own just in case). Might have room for some tiny swag.
**Let me know if coords are off - I thought they would be spot-on, but didn't look right on the map so I adjusted it manually.
