Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Our Scouts have been working on navigation and grid references; our Cubs have been playing with codes, such as ROT13 and 1=A, etc. You will need these skills to locate this cache.
The given co-ordinates are for our meeting place, you do not need to go there, but there is a free car park under the bridge for a possible setting off point, there are others that may be nearer to the GZ. The cache must be accessed from the grass and no fences need to be crossed, there are gates along the paths leading to it. The area can get wet and muddy.
The grid references listed below are for some local village churches; you do not need to visit them either, the Village’s initials will give you the start of the code. Deciphering the code will reveal the location of the cache (give or take a couple of metres). Remember some codes rely on a twist to make them harder to break.
At the time of placement, we believe this to be the largest cache in Lewes, hence the cache name.
The grid references you need are:
TQ4455 1255
TQ4180 1425
TQ4210 0630
TQ3560 1355
Please hang the container back up to prevent the contents drowning again (see logs)
Cache note - work n the area preventing a physical cache placement at this time - to log, send a photo of te historical brickwork, just south of the GZ
