Geocache Description:

Cornwall's first 100 plus cache series. There's a fair mix of footpaths and very minor roads - with quite a lot of up and down sections. Dogs should be no problem, buggies/prams and wheelchairs will struggle - lots. Some stunning views so bring a camera. There are several stiles on the way round.

Mr Choughly  The Choughly Saint's HALO Cache Series

It’s based on parts of “The Saints Way”, a circuit of some 22 miles, taking in coastline, moorland, a tor and a selection of delightful towns and villages - with many spots to stop for tea or if you’re that way inclined there’s a lovely selection of fine Cornish Pubs on the way round.

Cache Name HALO - St Gluvias
Cache Comments This cache is at the start (or finish) of a section of the Saints Way which takes you from Helman Tor along a ridge with fine views either side before descending down to a road and onward to the delightful village of Lanlivery. The cache is a black topped 825ml plastic jar and contains the Helman Tor stamp. Please bring your own ink pad if you are intending on using it. From the parking you are within striking distance of two other great caches, GC10PE8 an Earthcache requiring you to visit the stone formation at the top of the Tor (please read actual cache page as there are tasks to be completed to claim it) and GC1PKF5 The Lone Tor 09 by Gribbin, a regular cache just beyond the tor with great views towards Bodmin Moor. Allow 30 mins and an extra half-mile to grab these two at the start or finish of your walk.
Parking & Shops Free Parking is available at Helman Tor N50 25.223 W004 43.763. From the small road between Lowertown and Trebell Green turn into the narrow lane heading SE and up towards the Tor taking the left fork halfway up. PLEASE NOTE the lane up to the car park is narrow in places and anything wider than a family car will be trimming the hedges. NOT SUITABLE for Motorhomes.

Lucky Chough Contest

If you're lucky enough to find a small, lovingly handcrafted chough in any of the caches, then you could be lucky enough to win one of a very limited number of the 2008 Cornish Geocoin in an Antique Bronze finish. Just Email Choughly, and you'll be entered into his lucky draw to win the coin.

General HALO Information
