Near the edge of the woods there is an old mossy bank. Full of life and lush growth.
My Granddaughter Jade has helped me set up some caches to help explore Abbeyford Woods.
Abbeyford Woods are easily explored on foot or by mountain bike. These caches are best found on foot. The woods are managed by the Forestry Commission who welcome geocachers! Areas of beech, oak, larch, Douglas fir and sweet chestnut have created a diverse combination of wildlife habitats. As a result, the woods are frequented by red and roe deer, badgers and otters as well as numerous birds from redstart and pied fly catcher to nightjar, buzzard and raven.
The paths vary in quality, I recommend wellies for kids in all but the driest weather!
The cache is a small clip lock box.
