Geocache Description:

A straight forward traditional cache. You are looking for a clear 1.25 litre snap lock box. It is hidden 1.2 metres above ground level.

Welcome to Mailbox Road

This cache is just off a forestry road in Akatore Forest. The cache is a 600m walk from the locked gate at the start of Mailbox Road.

Have you ever wondered how forestry roads are named. Berwick Forest has roads named after locations in Scotland. Allanton Forest roads are apparently named after the wives of the staff. I wonder how Mailbox Road got it's name.

Please Note:

This cache is on private property - a forest block owned by Wenita Forest Products. Permission has been granted to place the cache in the forest block. All public access to the forest is by permit only - this includes looking for this cache. This is for the safety of all forest users.

The following information information is from the Wenita Forest products website.

All forest access is by permit only. All forest access for recreational use is restricted to weekends only. This is to ensure the safety of all forest users.
