Saltwater Series -- Red Snapper Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Vertighost: Cache owner (CO) has not responded and, as there's been no cache to find for an extended period of time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please note that caches that have been archived due to maintenance issues and/or failure of the cache owner to respond are not eligible to be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

The Saltwater Series should all be EZ P & G here scattered around Victoria. We've been wanting to create a series to bring even more caches to Victoria. You will find similarities to the majority of the caches in this series, and seeing how we love to fish, we wanted to make this series the name of all ( or most )of the saltwater fish that could be caught off of the coast of Texas. All of the caches are going to be rated 2.5 on difficulty due to having to use extreme stealth at most GZ's.

The red snapper commonly inhabits waters from 30–200 feet (9.1–61 m), but can be caught as deep as 300 ft (91 m) on occasion. They stay relatively close to the bottom, and inhabit rocky bottom, ledges, ridges, and artificial reefs, including offshore oil rigs and shipwrecks. Like most other snappers, red snappers are gregarious and will form large schools around wrecks and reefs. These schools are usually made up of fish of very similar size.
