Geocache Description:

Cache is located in Hungry Mother State Park a short distance from Marion, VA on state route 16.
Effective January 1, 2009 Daily Parking Fees for Passenger Vehicles; Weekdays $2 Weekends $3

This cache will take you to the top of the Raider’s Run Trail marked with blue blazes. The container is a 1 x 12 plastic tractor manual storage tube with a log book and small trade items. The hiding spot is just off the trail and it isn’t in the hollow den tree you will be standing next to so look lower for the container. Please replace the container as well as you found it or even better for the enjoyment of the next cacher. After finding this cache you can go on to the next trail to the left and enjoy a nice walk around to my Orienteering on the Old Shawnee Trail.
Thanks

Note:
In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general plumbic the opportunity hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
