Staveneset ligg i kryssinga mellom Nordfjorden og Strynebukta.
Herifrå har du ei flott utsikt utover fjorden i retning Blakset.
Det er mellom anna ein fin plass for å observere alle cruise-skipa
på veg til og frå Olden. Området ved neset og innover mot Stryn er
mykje brukt til båtaktivitet og bading om sommaren for innbyggarane
i Stryn sentrum. Cachen ligg ved den gamle bilvegen rundt neset. I
dag går riksveg 60 gjennom den 111 meter lange Stavenestunnelen.
Det er god parkering fleire stader langs Rv 60 på nordsida av
tunnelen.

Staveneset is a cape at the intersection between the Nordfjord and
the Stryn Bay. From this headland you find a great view out the
fjord towards Blakset. It is a nice place to observe the cruise
ships that sail to and from Olden in the summertime. The area
around the ness and towards the town of Stryn is popular among
locals for boating and swimming in the summer. The cache is placed
by the old road around the promontory. Today the highway runs
through the 111 meter long Stavenes Tunnel. There are parking areas
along the highway on the north side of the tunnel.
