Geocache Description:

you will need tweezers and a pen.

In the area you will see some structures. These were WWII air raid shelters, used by Polish people who had escaped to the UK and were living and working in the area at the time.

This is part of a circular walk to join onto Bilberry Woods by parking at lay-by overlooking Airbus or the walk can be started from the other end by parking in Tinkersdale car park N53 11 007, W03 01 526. Please note that although this is dog friendly you will have to lift dogs over certain stiles. These Christmas Tree caches get their name from the lovely avenue of fir trees that you will see as you are walking to Christmas Tree 3. The Christmas Tree caches are sited near the old road through the park, called Broadlane (in the Township of Broadlane, 1 mile from Hawarden) built in 1532. In the 18th century the Glynne family cleared the township to stock the park with 100 deer and around 1804 Broadlane was closed and the road diverted north around the park towards Chester.
