On the shore of Lake Marion.
This cache is at the Santee State Park. It is to replace the original cache that disappeared after the fire. It is located on the Mountain Bike Trail about midway between the Cypress View Campground and the Pavilion. The trail starts just before the campground for day users or behind site 27 for those in the campground.
The cache is only about half of a mile from parking area listed. The coordinates for the Trailhead at the rec. area are N33 32.629 W80 29.604. It's about 2 miles to the cache from here.
It can also be reached by boat.
There is a $3.00 fee for adults, $1.50 for SC seniors and age 15 & under free. The Annual Park Passport will also get you in.
There is a First To Find Travel Coin in the cache.
