Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the end of the alternative track/route from Newlands to Ngauranga. This track is a gravel track that climbs to 160m above sea level (at Newlands end) from approx. sea level (at Ngauranga) at a grade of 10%

To get to the track, take the shared driveway of 23 Wakely road which then turns into the gravel track.

The track is about 1.5km long

Ngauranga Gorge circa 1880

This cache finds you in Ngauranga, a 'suburb' of Wellington that is very industrial and has seen much change over its lifetime.

This cache is located next to State highway one at the bottom of the Ngauranga gorge which has been altered greatly to accommodate SH1

To get to this cache park at the marked waypoint co-ordinates or take the track all the way down from Newlands.

This cache is a 400mL sistema, please re-hide as you found it
