History
The Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame (located on the 3rd floor of Edmonton’s City Hall) was established in 1959 and honors Edmonton athletes who have represented Edmonton credibly in competition, with exemplary sportsmanship and skill. Our builders of sport have given our city a strong foundation in which athletes can develop their skills and abilities.
I see few visitors every time I walk through this hall while I work, (with the exception of the odd school tour) and thought it would be a great way to host my first cache.
So to honor these "Athletes", welcome to my first cache hide that I would like to call Cacheletes.
Cache Details
In order to complete this cache you will need to pay tribute the sportsman, builders and athletes that have helped make Edmonton the City of Champions! In addition I encourage you to get active and walk each waypoint. If you do chose to walk, it will require at least 1 hour of walking.
Find the following members in the Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame at City Hall and take note of the last 2 digits of the year they we're inducted (ie 1967 would be 67):
Wayne Gretzkey (an easy one :P)
Gordon Bertie
Normie Kwong
Pierre Lueders
All this information is available on the internet if you know where to find it. However, in the spirit of the cache and my desire to increase awareness of the hall, you will need to take note of ‘which wall’ each member is hanging on in order to complete the coordinates (ie if Wayne Gretzkey is on the north wall he would be part of the North coordinates and so on).
Once you have the dates complete the following coordinates:
Stage 1 : N 53° 33.0(North 1 + North 2 + 130)’ W 113° 28.West 1 + West 2 + 168)’
Once there you will be looking for a clue or cache that will lead you to the first Way point and continue until you reach ground zero. While the final cache itself is in an ammo can, you will need to think outside the box to find it.
Finally, the first 5 people will get to play "FTF Roulette" inspired by Kbrunog®
Please return the cache to look like it belongs!
GOOD LUCK!
