Lincoln Tennis Courts is located at Christine Emerson Reed Park. You see the courts as you drive by on Wilshire Blvd. This is a popular hang out for those without a permanent place to live. About a decade and a half ago, I remember seeing the covered bleachers filled with sleeping bags, burners, and personal items of street dwellers. Today, the park is regulated by Rangers and no one is allowed to sleep overnight.
The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for all ages, from a playground to basketball, soccer, softball, frisbies and picnics. And, a perfect place for caching with friends or family.
Note: This is a busy park and you may have to wait for a parking space to open up. Only meter parking is available. The residential areas of Santa Monica have permit only parking and Parking Enforcement make their rounds often.
