Geocache Description:

A Nighttime Paddling CITO option in honor of frog4peace and Mr.Frog's trek to Houston and for those affected by moonlight madness on the CLAPS series - 6:15pm

This CITO Event is focused on the southern part of Armand Bayou - heading downstream. This is a beautiful place day or night, and this is our opportunity to give back by taking out some of the junk that shouldn't be there. Not only will that keep it beautiful, it will also benefit the wildlife which may become trapped in our trash.

I will launch from Bay Area Park around 6:00 pm and head that direction so we can meet at GZ around 6:15 pm.

Things all paddlers should have / know: Paddlers should always wear life jackets, and take plenty of sunscreen and water. Sunglasses and a hat are highly recommended. Power boats / gas engines are prohibited on the trail from GPS marker #4 upstream through trail marker #26 (basically, everywhere we will be). Stick to paddling.

Things needed for the CITO Event: A garbage bag or two. A reaching stick of some kind is often easier to use than your paddle. Gloves are recommended.

Cautions for all participants: There are risks involved in getting out on the water. Please read and heed the warnings on all of the CLAPS cache pages, which will give you more information on the area, including warnings and recommendations. The CLAPS caches are all bookmarked, and can be found HERE: CLAPS Bookmark.

Groundspeak CITO pathtags will be given to participants until supplies are exhausted (one per caching ID unless supply exceeds demand). Please log a will-attend log online as soon as you can.

If you want to help out, but don't want to get on the water, please contact me! We can use your assistance. If you don't have a boat and do want to get out on the water and help clean up, post a note here. You may find yourself in an empty canoe or kayak seat in which you can lend your paddling muscle. We will do our best to help you get out there!
