Geocache Description:

Winter! This should be a fun cache for the experienced winter (x-country skis or snowshoes) back country traveler

Perhaps this cache is named in honor of the two people that placed it. It is highly recommended that you plot this on your USGS quad and carefully plan your route. If you just turn your gps on and follow it, we believe you will learn what lives between the 40 ft. contour intervals on maps. The route we followed to place the cache we would rate at an "intermediate" cross country ski skill level. The recommended parking spot would be at the turn out for the Loon Lake Campground Road off the Loon Lake Road. Icehouse Road and Loon Lake Road are paved and plowed but dangerous winter mountain driving conditions can be present. Be prepared! The Loon Lake area is a popular cross country ski and snowshoe desination with trails marked with blue diamonds on trees. This cache is not on any trail. It is cross country route finding. The nearby Loon Lake Chalet is open to the public as a warming lodge during the day on weekends. This cache should also make a great non-winter cache to find. Don't make this your first winter trip! Be prepared. Carry the proper equipment. Realize that different snow conditions can make a BIG difference in travel time. Set a turn around time in your plans and stick to it! Because we believe that geocaches should not be placed in official Wilderness areas, this cache is outside the Desolation Wilderness Boundary (by a few yards!).Have fun!

The cache is a green ammo box that contains a logbook, a Jughead Comicbook, a Yoyo, and an emergency whistle.Perhaps this cache is named in honor of the two people that placed it.
