We've brought a bit of The Bronx to Virginia; near a well-hidden, seldom-used community basketball court. Parking is available next to the court.
In June 1639, Jonas Bronck navigated up the East River in a ship, De Brant Van Troyen (The Fire of Troy), and made home on a piece of land he acquired from the Lenape Indians, across the Harlem River from the village of Harlem. His farm, known as Emaus, Bronck's Land, Broncksland, or simply Bronck's; covered roughly the area of today's southern Bronx.
