This cache is located inside the Iron Age site in the Pilanesberg reserve. It is in around the Lookout point. Please follow the pathway to the lookout point. Naturally this is a game reserve therefore please be on the lookout for any strange creatures, e.g. snakes, wasps, bees etc. This is a medium cache that can hold multiple items including travel bugs. Special FTF gift in this cache!
Tswana speaking people have been living in the Pilanesberg region for the last few centuries. The Bakgatle tribe (a Tswana speaking group) moved into the area and settled in approximately AD 1700. This settlement was probably associated with a sub-chief who controlled access into this section of Pilanesberg and, while acting as a vassal of the local kgosi, helped maintain the regional dominance of the Bakgatla until the middle of the 19thy century.
