This cache is NOT inside the Golden Spike National Historic Site.
This cache was inspired by a TB we had possession of for a couple of weeks. The Bug is Adam's Thomas the Train Bug. Adam is a young man from England who likes trains, and his family convinced him to take one of his "Thomas" train engines and make a travel bug so it could visit other trains. Thomas visited the Front Runner train that runs from Ogden, Utah to Salt Lake City, Utah, and is a commuter train. Thomas also visited the "119" and "Jupiter" steam locomotives at the Golden Spike National Historic Site (GSNHS). I am also interested in trains, and really like the Steam Locomotives. There is a fee to visit the GSNHS, but you can purchase a National Parks pass, and visit many National Parks, with no additional fees. The location of this cache does not require entrance into the Park, but we recommend you visit the Site while you are there, especially the Locomotive House tour. Visitor Center hours and schedules for tours are available at the National Park Service website listed as the related web page. There is a re-enactment of the meeting between the original "119" and "Jupiter" during summer hours.
