Beek birds Deze korte multi-cache bevindt zich in Beek, deelgemeente van Bree. Route is minder dan 2 km. (English version you can find below) Beek fuseerde in 1965 met Bree. Het dorpje ademt rust uit. De Zuid-Willemsvaart met paaiplaatsen voor vissen, de oude kanaalarm, de prachtige kastanjedreven, de natuurdomeinen Jan van Abroek en de Luysen (40 ha groot), onderdeel van het gebied Kempenbroek kunnen gemakkelijk een ganse dag boeien. De kerk van Beek bezit een Romaanse toren uit 1007 opgebouwd met veldstenen. In de kerk bevinden zich een aantal merkwaardige beelden van de laatgotische beeldsnijkunst. Het gerestaureerde Gilmanorgel dateert uit de 18de eeuw, het pijpwerk dateert uit 1593 en is daarmee het oudste van België. English Version This short Multi-cache (less than 2 km) takes you through Beek, a village within the borough of Bree. Beek merged with Bree in 1965. It is a quiet village. The Zuid-Willemsvaart channel offers places for fishing, the old channel arm, beautiful chestnut lined streets, the nature areas Jan van Abroek and De Luysen (40 hectare) , and the area of the Kempen, allowing for an entire day of entertainment. The church of Beek, Saint Martinus, has a Roman tower from the year 1007 built with field stones. In the church you will find a number of statues carved during the late-Gothic period.
