旧東海道に架けられていた帷子（かたびら）橋は、現在の「帷子橋」の位置ではありません。
昭和39(1964)年7月に帷子川の河川改修工事で大きく川筋が変えられことにともない帷子橋の位置も変わりました。かつての帷子橋の跡地は、現在の天王町駅前公園の一部になります。有名な安藤広重の「東海道五十三次之内 保土ヶ谷」の風景は現在では想像することもできません。
