This is a water bottle located near a popular haunted bridge in my town.
Park on the St. Martin Parish side of the bridge, as it's a little easier to pull off the road and there's a curve in the road on the Lafayette Parish side.
According to legend, a girl was murdered on prom night and dumped over this bridge. There are many urban legends that state if you park and turn off your car on the anniversary on this night and say her name 3 times, your car will not start again. I've also heard legends that her ghost will appear in her prom dress. A friend of mine who lives down this road said they called it Mary Jane Bridge because of other "illicit" activities they used to do around this bridge as kids. There's also stories of a Satanic cult that used to hold ceremonies in the woods around this area about 25 years ago.
Please include any other legends you may have heard about this area in your log. I haven't been able to get a clear or historically accurate story from anyone or any source, so I'm interested in other legends that may surround this bridge.
No need to actually go under the bridge anymore. This can be accessed from the pavement/gravel.
