Its Christmas time again and time for the
emCache
Christmas event.
Come and join us at Swadlincote Ski Centre in the
Alpine
Bar for festive drinks and geochat. All Geocachers are welcome
(and
non Geocachers for that matter).
The only access to the room is via a flight of steep
stairs and unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible for
that
reason. However, if anyone with access requirements wishes to
attend, please drop me a message and I will pass on my mobile
number as I am more than willing to assist people who have
difficulties with stairs. People with strollers can always give
someone a shout for a
lift up the stairs or if they wish, the same offer of a contact
number for a helping hand is available. Toilets are on the same
level as the room as is the bar.
The Ski Centre is accessed off Hill Street DE11 8LP.
There
is ample car parking for all visitors. The sat nav might lose it
a
little due to recent road routing changes. You can always
follow
the brown tourist signs as you get to Swadlincote.
We will be in the Alpine Lodge which is located
upstairs
at the ski slope.
Food will be available on the night until 9.00pm and
range
from lights bites to bar meals. Vegetarian dishes are also
available. To comply with Geocaching.com rules I have to
stress
that it is not compulsory to eat or drink and you will not be
thought any less of if you choose not to.
Children are welcome in the Ski Centre so there is
no
reason not to attend due to a lack of babysitters.
The room will be staffed earlier if you wish to escape the
ice and snow (if we have any by then)
