Pawnee Prairie - South Boundary Traditional Cache

WARNING: Do Not attempt to access this Geocache from the South, ie. W. Yosemite Dr. The cache location is on the south boundary fence line. Everything South of the posted coordinates is Private Property of the Wichita Airport Authority. There are No Trespassing signs posted all along Yosemite (click here). Please use the supplied Parking coordinates off of S. Tyler Rd.

Pawnee Prairie Park contains some of the best recreational trails in Wichita. I have spent countless hours exploring this park over the years and still seem to find new trails and routes through the park. Even better is the enormous amount of deer and other wildlife in the park. The cache is located on the south boundary of the park, not too far from the east parking lot off of S. Tyler Rd. There is a paved path that winds around to the southwest and will take you by a steel bridge (N 37° 38.680 W 097° 26.905) that crosses over the Cowskin Creek and to the cache area. The paved path ends and you will need to utilize horse and/or game trails the rest of the way. You are looking for a naturally camouflaged matchstick container hidden to blend in with the surrounding, that stands out. Please use stealth and keep an eye open for muggles to the north. Enjoy!
