The Good Life #3 Away from it all Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

foxscout: I have dithered about what to do with these for a while now.

I love the hide for number one and two and they both still get lots of visitors.

But number three and four...if I hid them now, this isn't how or where I would place them...

I have tried to think what else I could do with them and after a few weeks thinking I have decided to archive them and free the space up for others.

Thank you to everyone who has visited these caches and for all the lovely logs.

Geocache Description:

The Good Life #3 Away from it all

A series of caches inspired by the 1970's sitcom The Good Life.

Tom and Barbara are depressed because their latest crop is a letdown.
They go to Margo and Jerry's for dinner.

Each cache is placed near allotment sites in and around Colchester.
There are 17 allotment sites in Colchester with approx 800 plots. These allotments are known as 'Grants Meadow'. Grants Meadow has an area of wetland habitat, where the land is unsuitable for allotment plots. There have been a number of species reported here including a cuckoo wasp (Hedychrum niemelai) which is a Red Data Book (RDB3) species. RDB3 species are catagorised as rare.

Other species reported here include crickets, butterflies, craneflies, hoverflies and water ladybirds. The site includes a colony of the scarce arable weed Weasels Snout or Lesser Snapdragon (Misopates orontium), nationally this species is in decline, especially in the south east.

On the back of each log is a number that you will need to collect to find the bonus.

Please make sure the cache is well hidden. You will need a pen and tweezers might be useful.

Parking is available close by on Smiths Field, see parking co-ordinates.
The cache is a short walk from here along a footpath. I have included co-ordinates for the start of the footpath.
