Geocache Description:

Avian Highway III:

Gaviiformes

Please DO NOT search for this cache at night.
You do not need to go past the wildlife refuge boundary signs.

A loon is a prime example of the Gaviiformes order. There is a common misunderstanding that the phrase 'crazy as a loon' is in reference to the loon when in fact it is a reference to a those that are infatuated with the Earth's moon, Luna. Mercer, Wisconsin promotes itself as the "Loon Capital of the World".
