This cache has been archived.

Geocache Description:

Avian Highway XII:

Strigiformes

Please DO NOT search for this cache at night.
They often close the gate at dusk.

You do not need to go past the wildlife refuge boundary signs.

The owl is a prime example of the Strigiformes order. Typically a solitary nocturnal creature, the owl relies on keen hearing and eyesight to locate its prey. Notable Strigiformes include Woodsy Owl with the motto "Give a hoot — don't pollute!" and a wise old sage who can determine how many licks it takes to reach the center of a tootsie pop.
