Geocache Description:

In the Bachechi Open Space

The Bachechi Open Space is immediately adjacent to the very popular Alameda Open Space. It is named for the family that once owned the property and ran a farm here. There is a rose garden dedicated to the family south of the cache.

The cache is named for the nursery that was run on the eight northern most acres of the property. It was owned by the McIntyre family for about 25 years. Most of the trees you walk through to access the cache were planted from seeds and grow with the intent to sell. The legacy of this successful farm/nursery lives on today in many of the trees at this site.

Take the time to walk the area and read the signage. They are very well done and there is a lot of information and history on each one. There are very nice natural benches in the area and tables and bench swings to the south of the cache. There is an Environmental Education Build on site as well.

The cache itself is a magnetic nano. With limited places to look, it shouldn’t be too much trouble.
