Chcialbym was dzisiaj zaprowadzic do kompleksu fortów carskich, znajdujacych sie na prawym brzegu rzeki Narwi w okolicach miasta Lomza.
Rosjanie rozpoczeli budowe fortów po roku 1896 natomiast w roku 1900 forty wzmocniono budowlami betonowymi. Byly to forty I, II, III budowane wedlug wzoru gen. Wieliczko z roku 1897, który to projekt stal sie wzorcowym rozwiazaniem dla wszystkich twierdz rosyjskich od 1898 do 1908 r. Forty sa w róznym stanie zachowania. Fort II – przy bramie ktorego stoisz jest najwiekszy i najbardziej regularny z trzech fortów. Fort II byl fortem centralnym w którym znajdowalo sie centrum dowodzenia. Od 1998 roku fort II znajduje sie w posiadaniu prywatnego wlasciciela, który pod nadzorem Wojewódzkiego Konserwatora Zabytków prowadzi prace renowacyjne istniejacych budowli polaczone z rekonstrukcja detali architektonicznych oraz elementów wyposazen takich jak: drzwi, schody, kraty i bramy. Istnieje szansa przywrócenia pierwotnego wygladu fortu. Krazy wiele legend zwiazanych z fortami, ponoc wszystkie byly polaczone podziemnymi korytarzami, a z fortu II mozna sie bylo dostac podziemiami do miasta Lomza...

I would like to invate you today to tsarist fort complex, located on the right bank of the Narew river near the city of Lomza.
The Russians began to build forts in 1896, while in 1900 they reinforced forts by concrete structures. These were the forts I, II, III, built by Gen. Wieliczko pattern from 1897, which became the standard design solution for all Russian fortresses from 1898 to 1908. Forts are in various states of preservation. You are standing at the gate of Fort II – which is the largest and most regular of the three forts. Fort II was the central fort which included a command center. Since 1998, the fort II is owned by a private owner, who under the supervision of the Provincial Conservator of Monuments leads renovations of existing buildings combined with the reconstruction of architectural details and elements of endowments, such as doors, stairs, bars and gates. There is a chance to restore the original appearance of the fort. There are many legends connected with the forts, said all were connected by underground passages, and there was also a passage leading to the city of Lomza ...
