Islands of Aloha

The eight main islands of Hawai'i as viewed from space.

Aloha and welcome to the beautiful State of Hawai'i.

The following is an excerpt from the gohawaii website:

"Hawai'i is like no other place on earth. Home to one of the world's most active volcanoes and the world's tallest sea mountain. Birthplace of modern surfing, the hula and Hawaii Regional Cuisine. Former seat of a royal kingdom and home to the only royal palace on US soil. Hawai'i is one of the youngest geological formations in the world and the youngest state of the union. But perhaps Hawai'i's most unique feature is its aloha spirit: the warmth of Hawai'i's people that wonderfully complements the Islands' perfect temperatures."

There are eight main islands that make up the State of Hawai'i, from east to west they are the Big Island of Hawai'i, Maui, Kaho'olawe (currently off-limits to the general public), Lana'i, Moloka'i, O'ahu, Kaua'i, and Ni'ihau (special permission needed to visit). However, the entire state is actually made up of the entire Hawaiian Island Chain which compromises hundreds of islands and stretches over 1,500 miles across the north Pacific Ocean.
