Near Gillies Grove, an old growth hardwood and white pine forest. And near Galilee, a retreat centre in a lovely setting by the Ottawa River.
The cache is camouflaged, but not hidden. It will be difficult to find if there is much snow.
The cache is near Galilee Retreat Centre, which is private property. While Galilee welcomes visitors walking on its grounds, it would be better to go around Galilee. This means parking at the west end of Ottawa Street in Arnprior. There you will find a map of Gillies Grove together with a description of how this beautiful old growth forest came to be preserved from loggers and developers.
Good paths will lead you through woods and meadow to the cache. Happy hunting.
When placed, the cache contained a log book and pencil, a travel bug, and a few trinkets for kids.
Please don't post pictures of the cache itself--makes it too easy to find.
