It is time once again for the annual Festivus Gathering of
Geocachers.
This is your big chance to air your grievances (caching-related or
not) and to challenge your fellow caching friends to a
thumb-wrestling smackdown! If there is anyone out there who is
unsure about Festivus, please check out the listing for The
Festivus Cache (GCRRP3) for a detailed description of the holiday
and its traditions. All are welcome to join in the celebration -
Festivus veterans, new cachers, locals, not-so-locals,and even the
morbidly curious!
We will meet at 11:11 AM SHARP. Anyone who arrives late or even too
early will find themselves on the receiving end of a grievance!
Please do not come expecting a bunch of feel-good prizes and
giveaways - that is not how Festivus works. After working on our
Grievance Forms over a late lunch, we will gather around the metal
pole for the official Festivus 2011 Airing of Grievances. Depending
on the attendees, this could take hours.
Please note! In order to facilitate the Airing of grievances
portion of the event, we will email attendees an official Festivus
Grievance Form. (We'll get around to it when we feel like it.) The
Airing of The Grievances is a key part of any Festivus gathering
and should be undertaken with the utmost seriousness and
respect.
We will only accept grievances that are submitted on the OFFICIAL
GRIEVANCE FORM. It will not be okay to just show up and start
scribbling down your minor complaints on napkins. Please limit your
grievance references to people who are actually attending the
event. Gossip is distracting and unacceptable, and can always be
done offline! We will bring extra copies of the grievance forms to
accommodate late-comers or surprise guests who do not notify the
world of their intention to attend. (We will have a lotta problems
with those people!)
