Geocache Description:

This is magnetic cache. Once you find the cache look east, (probably to your right),and you will see the woods that make up what's left of the battlefield of the "Battle of Fallen Timbers". Mad Anthony Wayne defeated a collection of native american nations which eventually led to the opening of what was then the northwest portion of the country for settlement. While it brought a relative peace to the area, it marked the beginning of the end for the resident tribes. The Metroparks of the Toledo area are in the process of determining the best way to preserve and present the battlefield while keeping the woods there in the state they currently are in.
It is not currently permitted to go into or near the battlefield, so avoid any problems with the Police or Rangers and stay on the roadway.

**Just a reminder this is more of a stop and grab and less of a park and grab. The Rangers are aware of the cache and are fine with it, but some folks are parking at the cache site and walking off or riding away. There is a no parking sign there now and they will soon be citing violators which then places the cache site in jeopardy. Thanks !!!
