This cache is part of the SC State Park Geocache Challenge. You are looking for a 50-cal ammo box a short ways off the trail. Access by hiking or boating. Please keep an eye on the trail to avoid being spotted by other hikers. Please hide back as found.
Lake Wateree State Park can meet the needs of most any fisherman or boater. Numerous Lake Wateree fishing tournaments are hosted here every year, and the park provides a publicly accessible boat ramp, tackle shop and park store with a refueling dock. An ample number of camping sites with water and electrical hookups are available, including many that accommodate large RVs. Although the lake serves as the focal point for Wateree, other day use activities are available including picnicking and a short, wooded nature trail. This cache is part of the South Carolina State Park Service Geocache Challenge. There are 4 regions within the challenge, with different numbers of geocache locations in each region. In each posted cache, there is a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the regional mystery cache, leading you to the final cache in each region, 4 in total. And in that final mystery cache in each region is also a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the “Finale cache”, providing the coordinates to reach the final cache, located at Sesquicentennial State Park which entitles the first 5 finders to a special reward. But to do this, you will have to have traveled to all 47 parks, and have found all of the caches! Good luck and most of all, have fun!
