This cache is part of the SC State Park Geocache Challenge. You are looking for a 50-cal ammo box,90 feet off old logging road. Baker Creek State Park is open seasonally from March 1 until Sept. 30.
Operated seasonally, Baker Creek caters to those looking for fun on the lake, biking trails or a quick camping trip. If you’re looking for quality, South Carolina mountain bike trails, the park is home to 10 miles of rolling, loop trails that take bikers through oak and pine woodlands.
Outside the stillness of the woods sits Lake Thurmond, a 71,100-acre lake that offers campers serene, lakeside camping sites, as well as easy lake access for boaters and fishers. A covered, 160-person capacity pavilion overlooks the lake and is perfect for group get-togethers and family reunions.
This cache is part of the South Carolina State Park Service Geocache Challenge. There are 4 regions within the challenge, with different numbers of geocache locations in each region. In each posted cache, there is a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the regional mystery cache, leading you to the final cache in each region, 4 in total. And in that final mystery cache in each region is also a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the “Finale cache”, providing the coordinates to reach the final cache, located at Sesquicentennial State Park which entitles the first 5 finders to a special reward. But to do this, you will have to have traveled to all 47 parks, and have found all of the caches! Good luck and most of all, have fun!
