A cache replacing the now archived Bahkra'a (GCMJHN)
The original Bahkra'a cache was in an area overlooking the red sand dunes behind the village of Bakhra'a. This cache is on west side of Bakhra'a in the amazing red sands.
This area is relatively unspoilt and quiet - it would be a good camping area.
There are graded tracks to the cache site from the nearest road. However, these are quickly disappearing under blown sand, so a 4X4 is required. We highly recommend bringing sand recovery equipment and travelling in a multi vehicle convoy (the terrain rating is based on a locally developed system - T3 = easily accessible to 4WD) although the terrain from the tarmac to the cache site is relatively flat it is sandy.
The cache is located in a derelict building, situated on a small rise, giving good views of the plateau and surrounding dunes.
This is a great area to practice your sand driving skills and to do some dune bashing.
