This cache is part of the SC State Park Geocache Challenge. You are looking for a 50-cal ammo box, along the trail not too far from the salt marsh.
Rich in Native American history, Edisto Beach is one of four oceanfront state parks in South Carolina.
Edisto Beach State Park features the state’s longest system of handicapped-friendly ADA trails for hiking and biking. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin.
For overnight accommodations, furnished cabins sit nestled in the woods, and campsites can be found along the oceanfront or in the shaded maritime forest.
This cache is part of the South Carolina State Park Service Geocache Challenge. There are 4 regions within the challenge, with different numbers of geocache locations in each region. In each posted cache, there is a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the regional mystery cache, leading you to the final cache in each region, 4 in total. And in that final mystery cache in each region is also a hint, a number that will be used in the formula given in the description for the “Finale cache”, providing the coordinates to reach the final cache, located at Sesquicentennial State Park which entitles the first 5 finders to a special reward. But to do this, you will have to have traveled to all 47 parks, and have found all of the caches! Good luck and most of all, have fun!
