Geocache Description:

Celebrate a year of caching by coming out for a quick flash-mob event on December 31, 2011 at 11:30 PM.

A geocaching flash mob is a VERY quick event, 15 minutes to be exact. The idea is to suddenly gather, conduct a quick meeting then disperse as quickly as we gathered. Please do not arrive at GZ early! Walk around, act like a muggle, etc until the time arrives. Dress warmly for this event. It could be cold outside.

To expedite the sign in process for this event, please bring a 3x5 note card signed with your caching name WITH YOU to the event and drop it into the box at GZ. This will be your "found it" log for the event. We will have extra 3X5 notecards and pens available for those that did not bring one. If your name is not in the box, you will not be allowed to log this event.

Please post a note if you plan to attend so we can get an idea of how many people will be there.

You may see wildernessben or other geocachers near ground zero before 11:30, but please do not convene at this area until the noisemakers are sounded.

The Event

At 11:30 PM Eastern Verizon Standard Time precisely, the event will begin. At this time, you will here the sound of noisemakers coming from a location close to the Harrisonburg library's mural wall. We will converge on this spot. At this point you will need to put your signed card into the official cache container.

At 11:38 we will gather and take a picture at 11:40. This needs to be quick. Please gather quickly.

At the conclusion of the picture, we will eat. The menu will be an Orio.

At 11:45 the noisemakers will sound again signifying the close of the event. All names need to be in the cache container at this time. One name will be drawn out of the container to signify the FTF credit. The cache container will close and the event will be over.

After the event closes you may stay and mingle for a little while, or head down the street to view the fireworks at midnight.
